Officials said a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle was “splitting” the northbound lanes at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle then collided with the right front side of a Kia Soul. The motorcyclist and rider were propelled forward, and crashed into the back of a Ford Fusion, officials said.

CHP said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s not known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. Officials said the motorcyclist was wearing a full-faced safety helmet at the time of the crash.
